All About Me!

So who am I?

Longhorn, Austinite, and coffee enthusiast

Currently, I am a Growth Marketer living in New York. I majored in Marketing at the University of Texas at Austin in the McCombs School of Business with coursework and work experiences in marketing, design thinking, and growth. Being born in Austin and watching the city change and grow over my life, I’ve been fortunate to be a part of it. I’ve been deeply influenced by the city and the people in it to celebrate new ideas, challenge yourself and others to innovate, and the notion that if you want to see change “get up and start building!”

I’m a passionate, creative thinker who loves being connected through people and technology. I thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and engaging environment where I am given opportunities to be creative and build new things.

Since I was a kid I’ve always been passionate about connection – the idea that we can relate,  empathize, and form a relationship with people, animals, technology, ideas, brands, fans, and so on. As I sit here in a coffee shop, there are two Patriots fans next to me, strangers talking about their favorite Marvel movie, a girl paying for her coffee with her Apple Watch, and a couple talking about their favorite brand of coffee. So…

Why does this matter?

At the core of all of this, is marketing. These Patriots fans next to me are hyper-passionate about their team and so connected to their community that they choose to wear their apparel on a summer day in Austin. The strangers talk about their favorite Marvel movie and they enjoyed it so much that they’re promoting and sharing their experience with others. The girl at the cash register paying with her Apple Watch is connected to her wallet via technology. The couple talking about their favorite brand of coffee find value in it and relate to it.

While marketing has an increasingly broad definition, at the core of it is the connection between the brand, product, and value provided to the user.
